Zusammenfassung

Unter einem Divertikel versteht man eine Ausstülpung der gesamten Darmwand. Beim Dickdarmdivertikel handelt es sich jedoch zumeist um sogenannte Pseudodivertikel, bei denen es nicht mit zur Ausstülpung der Muscularis kommt, also um sog. Mucosahernien. Als auslösendes Moment werden angeborene Gewebs-schäden bei muskulärer Hyperaktivität diskutiert, sowie eine mögliche pathogenetische Bedeutung der Ernährung; durch ballastarme Kost kommt es zu verstärkter Segmentation des Sigmas.
