Zusammenfassung

Maligne Erkrankungen im Jugend- und Erwachsenenalter können heute in einem hohen Prozentsatz durch eine Operation, Chemo- und/oder Radiotherapie geheilt werden. In den Fällen, in denen dies nicht gelingt, können in vielen Bereichen deutlich verbesserte Überlebenszeiten durch entsprechende Therapiemaßnahmen erreicht werden. Vor diesem Hintergrund treten die Fragen nach der Langzeittoxizität und den Spätfolgen der Therapiemaßnahmen zunehmend in den Vordergrund. Der Einsatz einer Chemo- oder Radiotherapie beeinflußt ebenso wie operative Maßnahmen die reproduktiven Funktionen des Mannes in Abhängigkeit von der Art der eingesetzten Substanzen bzw. Verfahren und dem Ausmaß ihrer Dosierung negativ und schädigt sie oft irreversibel.
