Bone removal in the exposure of the subtentorial posterior fossa by craniectomy is a grinding drudgery. Even with multiple burr holes, a great deal of trimming and bone removal is necessary. This instrument conserves the surgeon’s skill and dexterity for the neural handicraft to follow.
