Zusammenfassung

Der Heterogenität bipolarer Störungen Rechnung tragend, wurden in den letzten Jahren verschiedene Alternativen zur bisherigen Standardtherapie Lithium entwickelt. Neben Antiepileptika kommen zunehmend auch moderne Neuroleptika zum Einsatz, von denen insbesondere die Patienten profitieren, bei denen traditionell verwendete Stimmungs- stabilisierer nicht den gewünschten Therapieerfolg brachten.
