Softcomputing and Nanoelectronics

Abstract

Artificial neural networks (ANN), fuzzy systems FS), and evolutionary algorithms (EA) or genetic algorithms (GA) provide interesting approaches for na-noelectronic architectures. These three concepts are summarized by the term computational intelligence (CI), or softcomputing. They will extend the capabilities of conventional computer systems, because softcomputing facilitates a better data acquisition from our everyday environment [34]. CI methodologies will enable nanoelectronic systems with new and very special characteristics [35].
