Abstract

Since the first days of computed tomography (CT), which started to evolve as a clinical diagnostic feature in 1972 (Hounsfield), remarkable development took place. One major improvement resulted from the introduction of the (single-slice) spiral CT, which was constructed with significant participation of W. Kalender from the University of Erlangen, Germany.
