Abstract

Increasing globalization, the growing pressure of competition which accompanies it and constant changes in the enterprise environment are placing new demands on the manufacturing industry. Worldwide partnerships, global networks and increasing outsourcing of development output influence and modify the market on an enduring basis and force enterprises to react ever more quickly to the resulting demands. More than ever, process and product quality as well as an effective and efficient organization of the process follow-up along the entire life cycle of the product determine the continuance, growth and success of enterprises, product branches and, in the end over the future of entire fields.
