Abstract
Although the term core competences was coined by CK. Prahalad and Gary Hamel at the beginning of the 90s in the sense of making economic business-relevant decisions, the subject area became somewhat of a background to the prevalent theme of success factors. Even today, the automotive industry does not seem to have found a suitable approach to this issue.
