Abstract
The focusing of shock waves in gases has been studied intensively by many researchers [16]. It represents, typically in the case of moderate and strong shock waves, the gas dynamic nonlinearity; hence the ratio of peak to initial pressures at focal points can never increase to infinity, whereas in the case of very weak shock waves it does tend towards infinity [13].
