John Stewart Bell and the Dynamical Reduction Program

  • Chapter
Quantum [Un]speakables

Abstract

It is a great pleasure to have the opportunity of expressing once more my deep feelings for J.S. Bell, a unique individual, a great scientist, and a deep thinker whose memory we are honoring. He was always fascinated by the unsuspected depth of quantum mechanics (in its orthodox formulation) and at the same time worried by its puzzling aspects, and he was able to grasp more deeply than any other scientist the subtle features of the theory. Moreover, with his unparalleled contributions to the subject, he has imposed on all of us a radical change of attitude about “the quantum world”.
