Summary
Determination of the phonons in a quasicrystal is made complicated by the absence of lattice periodicity. Nevertheless, there are propagating phonon modes. In general, however, the eigenvectors are not Bloch functions. The spectra show a rich structure, and eigenvectors can be extended, localized and pseudolocalized.
