Abstract
This growth anomaly is always congenital and mostly a part of a generalized hemihyperplasia corporis. The aetiology is not known. If the complete half of the patient’s body is involved, then the extremities and corpus, bone as well as soft tissues, are larger and more voluminous than those of the other side. This is, of course, also true for the facial bones, soft tissues and the teeth. The abnormal growth comes to a standstill with the general cessation of growth of the patient.
