Abstract
The simultaneous hyperactivity of both the M- and Lcondylar growth regulators in one condyle must produce a mixture of mass and length production on the affected side of the mandible. These hybrid cases can produce the most grotesque facial asymmetry disfigurement. Naturally, they may exist as very mild forms only or even as exorbitant facial malformations. Between these two extremes, any degree of hyperactivity of the two growth regulators may occur. One factor may be grossly predominant over the other. In this event either the H.E. type or the H.H. type is the cause of the leading feature of the clinical picture.
