Abstract
In this chapter we shall study some modern algorithms and techniques used for controlling induction motors. Study of the control of three-phase induction motors has been our objective throughout this book. However, this aim would be difficult without a comprehensive analysis of the operation of such devices in both steady states and transient regimes. Moreover, since induction motors can be efficiently controlled only when they are fed through inverters, a whole chapter (Chap.6) was dedicated to this important topic. We are now ready to address our principal objective in the light of knowledge we have acquired of the steady-state and transient behaviour of inverter-fed, three-phase induction motors.
