Quantum Chaos and Transport in Mesoscopic Systems

Abstract

The so-called Anderson localization [1,2] is basically the fact that, because of the coherent scattering with the impurities, the electron wave functions in a metal are localized in space: as a result, the diffusion constant D and the Drude conductivity σ D = e 2 vD (where v is the density of states) vanish and the system is an insulator.
