Abstract

To define the possible content of semantic representations for each language semantic databases were defined which provide the same types of information in a uniform way. A prerequisite is that the information types are meaningful across the different languages involved, thus a multilingual description system. We describe the use and structure of these databases. These provide not only interface specifications among the deep processing components in the system, but also provide a rich resource for describing semantic properties of lexical items in theory and implementation independent way.
