Abstract
The idea of using functional forms of equations of state in a generalised way, in other words to describe properties of different substances with the same equation of state using just different sets of coefficients, is not new at all. Quite often, functional forms which had been developed for certain substances have been used for other substances as well. On a rather high level of accuracy e.g. Bender- and MBWR-type equations have been used for broad groups of fluids.
