Abstract

Nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) has emerged as an important tool for the study of protein structures, and it is the method with the highest structural resolution for proteins in solution that is currently available. A large number of excellent textbooks on protein NMR has been published (Atta-ur-Rahman, 1986; Wüthrich, 1986; Williams and Fleming, 1995). Extensive practical hints have been given by Croasmun and Carlson (1994). Here a brief introduction is presented to support the understanding of the kinetic applications of NMR in Sects. 5.7, 6.1, and 8.1.
