Abstract
Development of the Atlas of Florida CD-ROM has a long history and was the result of several events that worked together to produce the final published CD. Unlike many CD titles on the market today, the Atlas of Florida was intended to be a published book and the idea for a CD version came after the atlas became available. Converting a printed atlas to CD presented many challenges but also many opportunities. A brief look at the Atlas of Florida will help to understand what the CD contains and how it evolved.
