Convective Transport

Abstract

Convective transport phenomena are governed by hyperbolic equations. Convection processes arise in such diverse problems as fluid flow in water resources, oil, gas, and geothermal reservoir simulation, in heat and mass transfer in chemical and nuclear engineering, and air pollution in atmospheric environment. Such effects are also present in the convection—diffusion equations, the Navier—Stokes equations or the vorticity—transport equations of classic fluid dynamics.
