Molecular Analysis of Low Mr Glutenin Genes in Triticum tauschii

  • Conference paper
  • 416 Accesses

Summary

The isolation and characterization by DNA sequencing of two different low Mr genes from a genomic library derived from Triticum tauschii is reported. These genes were similar (more than 90% homology) but not identical to previously published low Mr glutenin gene sequences from cultivated wheats. The cloning of one of these genes in an Escherichia coli expression vector and the characterization of the corresponding protein are also reported.
