Chapter 7 Electromagnetic Waves in Dispersive Media
Up to this point, we have concentrated our attention on issues conserning the fields and waves in simple media, i.e., linear, nondispersive, and isotropic media, For a simple medium, the constitutional parameters are assumed to be constant scalars and frequency independent. In fact, no medium can always be a simple medium except vacuum. Most media can only be approximated as simple media under certain conditions.
