Abstract
The change of land use occurred in the last five decades in most of the Italian peninsula as well as in other parts of southern Europe have produced severe effects on a broad spectrum of plants and animals (Farina and Naveh 1993). The northern regions of Italy, massively urbanized and industrialized, are particularly exposed to these modifications.
