Abstract
In the previous chapter we looked at the actual extensions that are accessible throughout the world under the name of OLE for Design and Modeling to anyone interested in developing OLE-compatible CAD or GIS software. They form the basis for extending to the world of graphical applications all the benefits of drag and drop, cut and paste, embedding, linking and in-place editing, in other words all the mechanisms supporting interoperability between different application systems.
