Abstract

In the foreword to a collection of papers edited by the well-known Russian academician V. L. Bonch-Bruevich, he wrote: “The study of disordered materials — liquids, glasses, strongly alloyed superconductors — belongs to the ‘ hot spots ’ of contemporary solid state physics. The reasons for this are two and both are equally important and incentive. Firstly, the needs of, technology have to be mentioned. Modern electronics calls for materials with such a rich and non-trivial combination of, properties that all the superpure crystals, which served mankind with fidelity so many years are already insufficient to fulfil the needs.
