In later sections it will be necessary to introduce the total angular momentum J = L + S and, in the case of two electrons with their respective spins, S 1 and S 2, to consider the total spin S = S 1 + S 2. Generally, supposing that we have two angular momentum operators, J 1 and J 2, the problem consists in investigating the total angular momentum
