The Properties of 28Si Resonances at the 31.5 MeV and 33.2 MeV Excitation Energies via the 24Mg(α, 12C)16O and 24Mg(α, α)24Mg Reactions

Abstract

Our earlier study of the 28Si compound system by means of (α,12C) reaction in the α-particle energy range from 24.9 MeV to 27.76 MeV1), revealed the existence of a narrow resonance at 33.2 MeV exc. energy (27.1 MeV in the lab. sys.), not reported earlier, and a structure at 31.5 MeV (25.1 MeV lab). The latter could be identify as known 14.7 MeV CM energy resonance in the 12C +16o reaction 2).
