Abstract

We have applied the recently developed inverse scattering method of identical particles to determine the nature of the 12C — 12C potential between 14 and 33 MeV. The real part of the potential is found to be of non-monotonic molecular type and nearly energy independent. The imaginary part of the potential depends smoothly on the energy.
