Abstract
The aim of this short chapter is to remind the reader that, as everywhere else in biomedical research, specimens may be biohazardous. Appropriate measures are necessary to protect the operating personnel and environment. Routine safety precautions are sufficient for “closed” systems such as PAS, PROFILE, FACScan, FACStrak and FACSort.
