Abstract

A qualified eddy current system has to solve the following three problems: The impedance of a coil conveys the information about test parameters; it is measured and interpreted. However, in general, the impedance is affected by several parameters simultaneously, including those which are not at all the subject of the testing. The nature of the parameter which has caused the detected variation of the impedance cannot be recognized. Therefore, the first task is to isolate the contributions of the parameters to the impedance and to suppress the contributions caused by unwanted or disturbing parameters.
