Summary
The reconstruction of crack geometry, especially the sizing of crack height, from measured magnetic leakage-flux data in the vicinity of surface cracks is a general aim of NDT in the last decade. The contribution gives an overview about a numerical interpretation model developed and investigated in the IzfP for harmonic time-varying magnetic fields. The numerical analysis is based on a Fredholm-integral-equation system for the field vectors. Numerical results are compared with experimental leakage-flux amplitude-locus curves of well-known surface slits. For the inverse problem calibration steps for crack-height-, -inclination-and -width-estimation are given.
