Abstract

In this chapter we shall investigate the static susceptibility of systems described by Hamiltonians which may be written as the sum of individual terms. Our approach here, and in later discussions, will be to perturb the system with a magnetic field and then compute the response to this field. In this chapter we shall discuss the effect of a time-independent field H.
