Abstract

At the end of part B the various design methods and the resulting controllers or control algorithms for linear processes with and without dead time are compared. Section 11.1 considers the controller structures and in particular the resulting poles and zeros of the closed loop. Then the control performance for two test processes is compared quantitatively for different controllers in sections 11.2 and 11.3. The dynamic control factors for different controllers are compared in section 11.4. Finally section 11.5 draws conclusions as to the application of the various control algorithms.
