Abstract
To the surgeon, the idea of operating on the knee joint under arthroscopic visual control will seem somewhat strange at first. However, with suitable instruments and in selected cases, it is possible to carry out arthroscopic operations which are in no way inferior to those performed in the conventional manner. The advantages, which include a reduced surgical risk and considerable saving in cost, are obvious. However, the indications for operations of this kind are very limited.
