Abstract
Owing to the high stability and easy maintenance of a permanent magnet electron lens systems excited by permanent magnets are advantageous in obtaining high resolving power as well as good daily performance and low cost. Since 1949 the authors have studied many kinds of permanent magnet lens systems. Their constructions, characteristics and efficiencies will be reported.
