Zusammenfassung
Im Jahre 1991 wurde in der Steirischen Landeshauptstadt Graz das Projekt ÖKOPROFIT initiiert. ÖKOPROFIT steht dabei für ÖKOlogisches Projekt Für Integrierte UmweltTechnik. Dabei kooperieren Wirtschaft, Verwaltung und Wissenschaft mit dem Ziel, freiwillige vorsorgende Umweltmaßnahmen umzusetzen. Im Vordergrund steht der Einsatz von Cleaner Production und Aktivitäten zum Aufbau eines Umweltmanagementsystems. Der Begriff „Profit“ im Projekttitel ÖKOPROFIT soll dabei bewußt im Wortsinn von profitieren, also Gewinn ziehen aus Umweltschutzmaßnahmen, stehen.
