Hydrogen Atom—The Quantum-Mechanical Kepler Problem

Abstract

The classical Kepler problem is described in Section VI.2, where the Lenz vector is introduced. Section VI.3 gives the algebra of angular momentum and the Lenz vector, and Section VI.4 describes the representation of this algebra. In Section VI.5 we present the algebraic derivation of the hydrogen spectrum and discuss, at the end, fine-structure effects.
