Abstract

Hydraulic presses for manufacturing open-die and die forgings, briefly called “hydraulic forging presses”, are built in various types. The same operating characteristic holds true for all of them, which. contrary to forging hammers, is based on the static effect of the press load where the forces are contained within the press proper while hammer operation creates dynamic forces that are transmitted to the foundation.
