Zusammenfassung
Die Entwicklung und der Entwurf der verschiedenartigen technischen Einrichtungen für den Strahlenschutz, bei der Nutzung von Strahlen- und Atomkernenergie, berührt die Physik des Atomkernes. Daher setzt die Arbeit auf dem Gebiete der Strahlenschutztechnik beim Ingenieur im Mindestfalle ein elementares Verständnis einiger Grundbegriffe der Atomkernphysik voraus, so daß eine Zusammenarbeit mit dem Physiker an den jeweiligen Aufgaben möglich ist. Im Höchstfalle ist eine eingehende Kenntnis der Erscheinungen der Radioaktivität, der Kernspaltung und der Wechselwirkung von Photonen- und Neutronenstrahlung mit Materie aus dem technischen Sichtwinkel erforderlich, d. h. unter dem Aspekt der konstruktiven Verwertung der betreffenden kernphysikalischen Daten.
