Zusammenfassung
Kohlenstoff wurde als Biomaterial vor mehr als 10 Jahren eingeführt. Wegbereiter war zweifelsohne Bokros [1] mit der Entwicklung von Herzklappen, von denen bis heute mehr als 400 000 Stück implantiert sind [2]. Sie werden durch Abscheidung von siliziumlegiertem Kohlenstoff auf vorgefertigten Graphitsubstraten hergestellt. Ebenfalls sind solche Kohlenstoffprodukte für Hautdurchführungen und Zahnsockelimplantate in der Erprobung. Für die letzteren Anwendungen wird neben dem Pyrokohlenstoff Glaskohlenstoff vorgeschlagen und erprobt [3, 4]. Kohlenstoffasern in Form von Geweben linden Anwendung als Band-, Sehnen- und Bauchdekkenersatz [5, 6, 7], kohlenstoffaserverstärkte Verbundkörper werden in Tierversuchen als Knochenplatten getestet [8, 9, 10].
