In analytischen Labors eingesetzte Computersysteme bestehen aus der Computerhardware, Peripheriegeräten und aus der Software urn eine bestimmte Aufgabe auszuführen. Software schließt das Betriebssystem ein, so wie z.B. Microsoft DOS und Microsoft Windows, UNIX und die Standard Anwendungsprogramm-Software, z.B. Hewlett-Packard ChemStations.
