Zusammenfassung

Phäochromozytome sind katecholaminproduzierende Tumoren, die von den chromaffinen Zellen der Neuralleiste entstammen. Sie können daher sowohl im Nebennierenmark als auch in den sympathischen Grenzstrangganglien lokalisiert sein. In diesem Falle werden sie auch als Paragangliome bezeichnet. Die Paragangliome erfahren von verschiedenen Autoren eine weitere Unterteilung bezüglich ihrer anatomischen Lokalisation und ihrer mikroskopischen Struktur [50]. Im allgemeinen wird jedoch jeder katecholaminproduzierende Tumor unabhängig von seiner Lokalisation als Phäochromozytom bezeichnet.
