Abstract
In this paragraph we shall define a polynomial algebra over a field Γ and establish some of its elementary properties. Some of the work done here is simply a specialization of the more general results of Chapter XX, Vol. II and is included here so that the results of the following chapter will be accessible to the reader who has not read the volume on multilinear algebra.
