Zusammenfassung
Die optimale Gestaltung der mehrstufigen Produktions-/Lagerhaltungssysteme (P/L-Systeme) stellt ein Problem dar, daß in zwei Phasen zu lösen ist:

Festlegung der Struktur des Systems Die Elemente des Systems (z.B. Brutto- und Nettobedarf, Sicherheitsbestände, Bestellungen, Produktion) werden alternativ in Beziehung zueinander gestellt. Dadurch entstehen unterschiedliche System-Auslegungen, wie z.B. Systeme mit Bedarfs- oder Verbrauchssteuerung.

Optimierung der Parameter einzelner Systemelemente Optimale Einstellung der Prognoseparameter, Dimensionierung der Sicherheitsbestände, Losgrößenbildung usw.
