Zusammenfassung
Die Grundzüge der Biochemie sind sowohl für Mikroben als auch für Tiere und Pflanzen gültig. Es wird vorausgesetzt, daß der Leser mit den Grundtatsachen des Stoffwechselgeschehens vertraut ist, so daß sie im Folgenden nur kurz gestreift werden sollen. Ausführlicher werden dann jene Stoffwechselsysteme dargestellt, die ausschließlich bei Mikroben von Bedeutung sind oder die nur in Mikroorganismen untersucht wurden.
