Zusammenfassung
Aus praktischen Gründen ist eine Einteilung der Pilzinfektionen des Menschen in oberflächliche und tiefe (oder allgemeine) Mykosen zweckmäßig. Die oberflächlichen Mykosen der Haut, der Haare und Nägel verlaufen zwar oft chronisch und verhalten sich einer Behandlung gegenüber sehr resistent. Sie bedrohen jedoch fast nie die allgemeine körperliche Gesundheit des Patienten. Die tiefen Mykosen sind meist Allgemeininfektionen mit manchmal tödlichem Ausgang.
