Zusammenfassung

Der Beitrag untersucht die Rolle visueller Technologien und Artefakte in der Versicherheitlichung von Umweltproblemen. Am Beispiel des Europäischen Erdbeobachtungsprogramms EU Copernicus zeigt der Beitrag, dass visuelle Technologien – wie Satellitenfernerkundung – Umweltprobleme sichtbar und damit politisch bearbeitbar machen. Gleichzeitig beeinflusst die Art und Weise der visuellen Darstellung von Umweltproblemen die Möglichkeiten ihrer politischen Bearbeitung. Methodisch zeigt der Beitrag, wie die audio-visuelle Analyse von Videomaterial für die Untersuchung von Sicherheitsdiskursen fruchtbar gemacht werden kann.
