Zusammenfassung
Der Einsatz von algorithmenbasierten Entscheidungssystemen ist ein zweischneidiges Schwert: Am Beispiel der TOT-Zeiten bei Amazon wird gezeigt, dass die automatisierte Überwachung und systemseitige Entscheidung einerseits zu Abwehr und Abscheu führt, andererseits aber innovative Lösungen ermöglicht. Der Grat zwischen Big Brother und Big Botler ist schmal. Dafür gibt es vier Gründe, die näher erörtert werden: (1) der Technikeinsatz ist inhaltlich ambivalent; (2) verschiedene Anspruchsgruppen legen in unterschiedlichen Situationen unterschiedliche Akzeptanzkriterien an die Systeme an; (3) die Art und (4) Weise der Einführung digitaler Tools macht einen Unterschied. Darüber hinaus wird diskutiert, für wen und wann sich der Einsatz digitaler Tools eignet, wobei vier Strategien beschrieben werden, durch die auch kleinere Organisationen von Analytics und Automatisierung profitieren können.
