Abstract
With technological development in recent years, diabetes care started to develop technological devices for diabetes self-management that went beyond blood glucose (BG) meters for BG testing. Technology entered the diabetes market with a focus on supplementing HCP diabetes care and supporting self-management by providing educational and motivational support (Hunt, 2015). “As patients become more technologically savvy, devices become more available, and new technologies emerge, the variety of technological self-management strategies increases” (p. 226).
