Abstract
This chapter is dedicated to the tramway renaissance in Germany. First, the evolution of the institutional settings and practices of tramway transport at the national level is presented (Chapter 4.1). Subsequently, the cases of the Karlsruhe tramway system (Chapter 4.2) and the Hannover light rail system (Chapter 4.3) are explored.
